Euphorbia tithymaloides Variegated

Sometimes known as Jacob's Ladder, this uniquely sculptural plant is a lovely low-maintenance addition to any plant collection! Its crooked, pointed stems provide a bright pop of color to your indoor (or outdoor, in Zones 9-10) garden, and

The Devil's Backbone is a type of erect succulent shrub, native to subtropical regions of Central & South America. In the wild, these plants will typically grow to 1-2 feet tall, but as an indoor house plant, they may take a while to reach that height.

LIGHT:

This plantita thrives in bright indirect light to partial shade; if you notice your plant leaning towards the light, you can rotate it away to encourage upright growth, or stabilize it with a stake -- and move it closer to the light!

WATER:

Plant in well draining soil, and allow it to dry out completely in between waterings. Watering once every 2 weeks throughout the year is usually a good schedule to make sure that your Devil's Backbone dries out sufficiently; you can even reduce this schedule in the colder months.

If you’re worried about getting your water schedule right, we recommend using a Moisture Meter! These handy tools will help you gauge if your plant needs water or not, without the mess of sticking your hands in the soil to check.

If a plant is out of stock, we apologize – we’re very grateful for our community’s support, and can sell out of certain plants quite quickly! We get new plants about once a week and try to source all our community’s favs as fast as we can.

If you’re local to the LA area, we recommend coming into the shop when you can, especially if you’re looking for a new plant! We have much more plants in our store than we display online, as well as a full backyard greenhouse that houses our discounted rehab plants that need a bit more TLC from a new home.

NOTE: Toxic to animals when ingested.
